Member Web Sites Upload Instructions
The following instructions are for uploading your web files via FTP (File Transfer Protocol) to the Tellurian Network's web server(s). FTP Uploading of Personal Web Pages
To upload and access your web files, you must first download and install an FTP program. Some suggested FTP programs that you can use:
NOTE: Tellurian Networks does not provide the above suggested software. The purchase and registration of the above suggested software is at the discretion of the customer.
Instructions for Windows Users:
- After downloading the WS_FTP installer program, double click the file wsftp.exe to install WS_FTP. When that is complete, you will have a shortcut on your desktop to WS_FTP. Double click this icon to open the program. In the Session Profile window, make sure that the following information is entered:
- Profile Name: Tellurian Networks
- Host Name: users.tellurian.com
- Host Type: Automatic Detect
- User ID: Your-Username
- Password: Your-Password
- ***Make sure that the Save Password box is checked***

- Click the Save button.
- Next, click the Advanced button and make sure that "Passive Transfers" is checked, then click the OK button.

- When you are back to the Session Profile window, click the OK button to connect to your web space. You should now be connected to users.tellurian.com, you should see that in the top of the box, and you will automatically be placed in your personal web space directory.

- In the Local System section of the WS_FTP program, browse to where your web files are located on your computer and then highlight the file(s) that you wish to be uploaded to your web space.
- NOTE: Your start page or home page must be named default.html that is the first file that the web server will be looking for when accessing your web space. All subsequent pages linked from your home page can be named however you wish using the same file extension of *.html.
- Click the right arrow button
and the file will be transferred.
- Your files have now been tranferred to the proper location for the server at Tellurian Networks to serve your web pages.
Instructions for Macintosh Users:
- After installing the Fetch program, open the Fetch program.
- In the Open Connection box, type in the following information:
- Host: users.tellurian.com
- User ID: Your Username
- Password: Your Password
- Directory: Leave Blank
- Click OK
- The dog will run, and when he stops, you will be connected to users.tellurian.com. users.tellurian.com will appear in the top of the box.
- You will automatically be placed in your personal directory.
- Your files will then be displayed on the left hand side of the screen.
- To transfer a file from your computer to your Tellurian Networks directory:
- Click Put File:
- Locate the file locally, and double-click on it.
- You will be prompted with the name of the file to save it to users.tellurian.com
- If you would like to change the name of the file, do so now and click OK, otherwise, just click OK.
- To receive a file from your directory on Tellurian Networks:
- Highlight the file you want to receive by clicking on it.
- Click Get File:
- You will be prompted to specify where you want the file to be downloaded to.
- Choose the location, and click OK.
- You will then find the file located in the directory that you have specified.
FTP Uploading of Commercial Web Pages
The following instructions are for uploading COMMERCIAL web files if you have a own domain name hosted with Tellurian i.e. www.yourdomain.com.
To upload and access your web files, you must first download and install an FTP program. Some suggested FTP programs that you can use:

Instructions for Windows Users:
- After installation, open WS_FTP and in the Session Profile box, type in the following information based on your domain name:
- Profile Name: www.yourdomain.com
- Host Name: www.yourdomain.com
- User ID: www.yourdomain.com
- Password: Your Password
- Make sure to check the "Save Password" box
- Click the "Advanced" button, make sure that "Passive transfers" is checked, click OK.
- IMPORTANT! Make sure to click the "Save" button under the Profile Name to save these settings
- To connect to your web site, click the "OK" button and once connected, you should see that in the top of the box and you will automatically be placed in the root directory of your web site.
- To UPLOAD files to your web site:
- In the Local System section on the left, browse to and highlight the file (HTML, JPG, GIF, etc.) that you wish to uploaded.
- Next click the right arrow button ( > ) and the file will be uploaded.
- To DOWNLOAD files from your web site:
- In the Local System section on the left, browse to the directory that you wish files to be dowloaded to.
- In the Remote System section on the right, browse to and highlight the file (HTML, JPG, GIF, etc.) that you wish to download.
- Next click the left arrow button ( < ) and the file will be downloaded.
- Your files have now been tranferred to the proper location for the server at Tellurian Networks to read your pages.
NOTES: Your home page must be named default.html that is what the server will be looking for when accessing your page. All subsequent pages linked from your home page can be named however you wish using the same file extension of *.html.
Instructions for Macintosh Users:
- After installing the Fetch program, open the Fetch program.

- User ID: www.yourdomain.com
- Password: Your Password
- Directory: Leave Blank
- Click OK

- You will automatically be placed in your personal directory.
- Your files will then be displayed on the left hand side of the screen.
- To transfer a file from your computer to your Tellurian Networks directory:
- Click Put File:
- Locate the file locally, and double-click on it.
- You will be prompted with the name of the file to save it to users.tellurian.com
- If you would like to change the name of the file, do so now and click OK, otherwise, just click OK.
- To receive a file from your directory on Tellurian Networks:
- Highlight the file you want to receive by clicking on it.
- Click Get File:
- You will be prompted to specify where you want the file to be downloaded to.
- Choose the location, and click OK.
- You will then find the file located in the directory that you have specified.
